Why it was refused

Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed two storey side extension with flat roof and hip to gable loft conversion with a rear dormer window by reason of its design and sitting would result in an unsympathetic, unbalancing and uncharacteristic addition to the dwellinghouse. The proposed two storey side extension with flat roof and hip to gable loft conversion with a rear dormer window would result in the harmful erosion of the character and appearance of the host property on this corner location and the wider terrace. As such, the proposed development is contrary to; • National Planning Policy Framework (MHCLG, February 2019) • Policies 7.4 and 7.6 of The London Plan (March 2016) • Policies D4 of the Draft London Plan Intended to Publish (December 2019) • Policy BP8 and BP11 of the Borough Wide DPD (March 2011) • Policies DM16 of the Draft Local Plan Regulation 18 consultation version (November 2019) The above policies can be viewed on the Council's website: www.lbbd.gov.uk/planning
