Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed two storey side extension by reason of its insufficient set-back from the
main front wall of the dwelling house and insufficient set-down from the main roof ridge
would not be a subservient addition to the main dwelling house and would not be in
keeping with the character of the wider street scene. This is contrary to policies DMP1
of Brent's Local Plan (2019-2041) and SPD 2 of Brent's Residential Extensions and
Alterations (2018).
2
The connection of the proposed single storey side extension with the proposed front
porch would result in an overly dominant frontage and obtrusive form of development
that would not be in keeping with the character of the dwelling house nor the wider
street scene. This is contrary to policies DMP1 of Brent's Local Plan (2019-2041) and
SPD 2 of Brent's Residential Extensions and Alterations (2018).
