The proposed application by reason of the excessive heights of the electric gates fails to respond to and positively contribute to the character and appearance of the setting of the Webb Estate Conservation Area. As such, the proposal would be contrary to section 72 of the Listed and Conservation Areas Act 1990 and Croydon Local Plan Policies DM10.1 and DM18.1 2018 In reaching this decision the Local Planning Authority has sought to work in a positive and pro-active manner based on seeking solutions to problems in the following way: To assist applicants the Local Planning Authority has produced policies, provided written guidance, all of which is available on the Council's website and which has been followed in this instance. The Local Planning Authority delivered the decision in a timely manner.
