Delegated decision: Refused · Christopher Neelands
Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The two ground floor French doors would provide private access into St
Mary's Burial Ground, a designated community open space. This would undermine
its public character and function, contrary to Policy G1 of the London Plan (2021)
and Policy 7D of the Ealing Development Management DPD (2013).
2
The three French doors would introduce large, glazed openings that appear
incongruous in the traditional and historic setting of St Mary's Burial Ground,
within the Acton Town Centre Conservation Area. This would result in less than
substantial harm to the setting of the conservation area, with no public benefits
to outweigh the harm. The proposal therefore fails to comply with Policies D3, D4,
and HC1 of the London Plan (2021), Policies 7.4, 7B, and 7C of the Ealing
Development Management DPD (2013) and Policy DAA of the Ealing Draft Local
Plan (Regulation 22).
