Delegated decision: Refused · Louise Prew
Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposal, by reason of bulk, scale, mass, height and location of the
proposed extensions, would result in the loss of historic fabric, would
represent an inappropriate addition to the locally listed building and would
disrupt the open character and the pedestrian scale of this sensitive junction
within the conservation area, to the detriment of the character and
appearance of the host building and the South Shoreditch Conservation Area
contrary to policy HC1 of the London Plan (2021), Policies LP1, LP3 and LP4
of the Local Plan 2033 (2020) and the NPPF 2021.
2
The proposed extensions, by reason of their height, bulk and location,
would have an overbearing appearance giving rise to an increased sense of
enclosure for nearby residential properties, particularly at 9-10 Charlotte
Road, to the detriment of the residential amenities of neighbouring occupiers
contrary to policy LP2 of Local Plan 2033 (2020).
