Delegated decision: Refused · Erin Glancy
Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed development, by way of its scale, massing,
location and design, would result in an incongruous and discordant
form of development to the detriment of the character and
appearance of the application site, adjoining terrace and the wider
Stoke Newington Reservoirs, Filter Beds and New River
Conservation Area and Brownswood Conservation Area. The
proposal is considered contrary to the NPPF, policies D3
(Optimising site capacity through the design-led approach), D4
(Delivering good design) and HC1 ( Heritage conservation and
growth) of the London Plan 2021, and policies LP1 (Design
Quality and Local Character) and LP3 (Designated Heritage
Assets) of Hackney’s Local Plan 2033 (2020) and Hackney’s
Residential Extensions and Alterations SPD (2009).
