The proposal, by reason of its detailed design, size, and
location, would extend the rear first floor of the host property,
representing an overdominant and obtrusive extension when read
in conjunction with the rest of the extensions to the site. The
proposal would be out of keeping with the host building and the
terrace it forms part of. As such the proposal is contrary to policy
LP1 (Design Quality and Local Character), of the Hackney LP33
Local Plan (2020), policies D3 (Optimising site capacity through
the design-led approach), D4 (Delivering good design) of the
London Plan (2021), and the guidance contained in Hackney's
‘Residential Extensions and Alterations’ SPD (2009).
