Why it was refused

Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed roof extension, lightwell with centrally positioned door, rooflights and front boundary treatment, together with insufficient details of the design of the bin store, by reason of their excessive scale, bulk, position and incongruous design disrupting the host building’s roof form and symmetry and introducing visually prominent and uncharacteristic features, would have an unacceptable impact on the character and appearance of the host dwelling and the Telegraph Hill Conservation Area and as such is contrary to the provisions of Chapter 16 of the NPPF, Policies HC1 and D3 of the London Plan (2021), Policies QD1, QD9, HE1 and HE2 of the Lewisham Local Plan (2025) and the the provisions of the Alterations and Extensions SPD (2019).
