Robinia Tree (False Acacia) TPO 310 This is a mature large tree sited within the gardens of William Lodge close to the Buildings of William Lodge and alongside to the pavement, and road and parking bays on busy Cannonbury North Side. Following the clearance of extensive deadwood within the canopy of this by tree surgeons on 9 March further investigation indicated extensive fungal decay to the entire circumference of the base of the tree and decay to the rootball. Permission is sought to make the tree safe. The recommendation from the tree surgeons is to fell the tree. Although an extremely heavy crown reduction is an option the decay to the base appears so extensive that for safety reasons permission to fell the tree is sought. The tree has had extensive deadwood in the canopy that was recently removed and bracket fungus on the main stem has appeared in the past (Chicken in the Woods) further indications of poor health.

T2 Sycamore; Crown reduce by approximately 1.5-2.0 metres in height and laterally to balance, pruning to suitable growth points to retain the flowing lines of the canopy. Crown clean removing all dead, diseased, dying, crossing, rubbing and duplicate branches. Works to be carried out to manage the tree at suitable dimensions and in the interest of sound arboricultural practice.
