T1 Horse Chestnut x 1 (Aesculus hippocastanum) Large, mature, previously reduced tree. To maintain the tree, the suggested worksare: To reduce the tree back to the most recent points of reduction, retain shortened furnishing growth for crown continuity, remove up to 50% of fine internal growth, remove deadwood. T3 Lime x 1 (Tilia spp)Large, mature, previously reduced tree. The tree has a large, decaying cavity on the Eastern side of the tree. The wood at the back of the cavity sounds hollow whentapped and the cavity appears to extend (internally) up through the main union. It is hard to estimate just how much sound timber is left. I would recommend carrying out a decay test on the tree to ascertain the extent of the decay. In order to make the tree safe and to reduce the mechanical loading, the suggested works are: To pollard the tree at approximately @ 7 - 8m above ground.
