Morrison Water Services (MWS) are responsible for replacing circa 27 km of water main split into 92 discrete lengths within Thames Water's clean water distribution network. This is associated with the South London Distribution Mains Batch 4 project. This project comprises of the replacement of 780m of 4-inch cast iron water main with 125mm polyethylene water mains, as well as the replacement of up to eight fire hydrants and multiple valves and washouts. The site is within the administrative boundary of London Borough of Lewisham, specifically in the hard standing of the existing road network of Taymount Rise, Forestholme Close and (approximate post code SE23 3PA). Taymount Rise, Forestholme Close and Grassmount Road are lined with footpaths and residential properties.... No work directly to trees are going to take place. Works will remain in road along the hardstanding. However, there are 7 Large -leaved Linden (Tilia platyphyllos) trees along Taymount Rise (within Forest Hill conservation area) that works will be within the RPA of. We will have a number of mitigation measures in place to ensure no roots or trees gets damaged. ? All works will conform to Streetworks (NJUG) guidelines and appropriate construction methods will be adopted so that trees and their Root Protection Areas (RPAs) will be avoided where possible. ? Site team will be briefed on Tree protection and working near trees before works start. ? A watching brief is scheduled to take place and will be conducted by an arboriculturist at RSK. ?
