Delegated decision: Refused · Radhika Bedi
Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed two storey side extension, by reason of its close proximity to
neighbouring property, size, siting, scale, bulk and design would result in a visually
obtrusive, insubordinate, disproportionate and incongruous additions to the host
property and the established pattern of development, reducing the gaps between
properties and boundaries creating a terraced effect which fails to preserve the
character and appearance of the host property, the pair of houses and surrounding
area, contrary to Policy D3 of the London Plan (2021); Policies CDH01 and CDH05
of the Barnet Local Plan (Adopted March 2025) and the LB Barnet Residential
Design Guidance SPD (2016).
