Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice

The Juliet balcony, by virtue of its design and proportions, would create a visually intrusive
form of development that would be out of keeping with the character and appearance of the host
property and would be detrimental to the character of the surrounding Enfield Town Conservation
Area. The proposal is therefore contrary to policies CP30 and CP31 of the Core Strategy (2010),
Policies DMD37 and DMD44 of the Development Management Document (2014), Policies HC1 and
D4 of The London Plan (2021) and guidance contained within the National Planning Policy
