Why it was refused

Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed first floor rear extension, by virtue of its design, scale and bulk would be an incongruous addition to the property and would harm the visual amenity of the area. As such, the proposal is contrary to Policies D4 of the London Plan 2021, CP30 of the Core Strategy 2010, DMD 11 and DMD 37 of the Development Management Document 2014 and the NPPF 2024.
2
The proposed first floor rear extension by reason of its scale and siting would give rise to an unacceptable loss of light and sense of enclosure to the occupiers of nos. 12 and 16 Windmill Road, contrary to Policies CP30 of the Core Strategy 2010, DMD11 and DMD37 of the Development Management Document 2014 and the NPPF 2024.
