Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed development including the rear extension and changes to fenestration and use of timber
cladding, by reason of their overall design, scale and appearance would be out of keeping with the character and
appearance of the host building and would result in less than substantial harm to the conservation area with no
public benefits. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policies Q5, Q7, Q8, Q11 and Q22 of the Lambeth Local Plan
(2021), the Council's Building Alterations and Extensions Supplementary Planning Document (2015) and the NPPF
(2021).
2
The proposed car parking space in front of the dwelling will not meet the minimum parking space
requirements and would result in the overhanging of vehicles into the public footpath. The proposed is therefore
contrary to London Plan (2021) Policies T1, T2 and T6 and Lambeth Local Plan (2021) T1 and T6.
