Why it was refused
Reason
As stated on the decision notice
1
The proposed single storey side extension, by virtue of the excessive height, scale, bulk, massing and
design, would form an overly dominant and incongruous form of development, one which fails to read as
subordinate to the host building. Furthermore, it would have a detrimental impact upon the buildings style and
character, and would fail to respond positively to the character and appearance of the wider area. The proposal
would therefore be contrary to the aims and objectives of policies Q2, Q5, Q8 and Q11 of the Lambeth Local Plan
(2021).
2

from the original dwellinghouse at 71 Herne Hill Road. This is contrary to policies Q2, Q5, Q8, Q11 and H5 of the
Lambeth Local Plan (2021).
