There are two mature Lime trees in the back garden of 53a Shepherds Hill adjacent to the boundary with the Shepherds Hill Allotment (shown as T1 and T2 on the sketch drawing). The trees are c.15m tall and overhang the Shepherds Hill Allotments. The proposed works are to cut the trees back to the extent they overhang the allotments. The applicant holds one of the adjacent allotments. 53a Shepherds Hill forms part of the Shepherds Hill Conservation Area. The Shepherds Hill Allotments fall outside of the Shepherds Hill Conservation Area. Given the buildings in the way and that they sit on land at a lower elevation, the trees are not visible from any public place within the Shepherds Hill Conservation Area and therefore do not contribute to the amenity value of the conservation area. The planned works are also consistent Haringey Council's rule that trees within the Shepherds Hill Allotments should not exceed 3m in height.
