Evergreen oak. Fell because it is too large for the site, shades an entire corner of the garden and is too close to the walls at the back and side. Cracks have appeared in the back wall in the past, which we have paid to have remedied and a large section of wall between our property and next door collapsed a few years ago. We are understandably anxious to avoid this happening again. The neighbour whose garden runs along the back of ours has complained to us about the tree and our next door neighbours agree. The lower leaves also appear to be suffering from some form of blight. I understand that this species is listed as an alien invader and is damaging biodiversity in the UK.
