The Acer pseudoplatanus/ Sycamore tree, we are aiming at 4-5 meter crown reduction/thinning out dead wood crossing or rubbing branches to form a healthy aesthetically pleasing crown just reduced in overall size. 2. Fraxinus excelsior pollards to be reduced by 4-5 meters in height or back to old pollard points, again to form the healthiest example being reduced from high pollarded growth. 3. Prunus spp very small shrub tree in alley way to be reduced by 0.5 - 1.5 meters maximum as wobbling due to windy position and poor rooting (possibly root girdling) . 4. Sambucus nigra also in alley way wobbling so reduction of height again 0.5 - 1 meter maximum to reduce wobble from sail effect of windy position in alley way.

Works to tree protected by a TPO. (T1) London Plane - This tree is standing at the rear of the garden of number 11 Highgate Close. The height and lateral spread over garden side have been reduce previously. Proposing to reduce the height and spread over garden side back to the old reduction points, approximately 3m off height and spread, leaving appropriate growth points. Also proposing to reduce the back of the tree to balance the shape of the crown, would reduce by approximately 2m. The reason for this work is that a reduction will help to prevent failure of regrowth and prevent excessive shading to multiple surrounding gardens (Works to (T2) Olive will be considered separately under Section 211 Notice ref. HGY/2025/3063, as this tree is not protected by a TPO but is located within a Conservation Area)

Five Day Notice to remove a Beech tree at 22 Highgate Close, London N6 4SD. This tree has a very sparse crown and leaves have recently started declining and browning. In the last month the tree has sprouted large masses of giant polypores around the root plate. There are also hollow areas around the base of the tree when testing with a sounding mallet. Due to the size and location of the tree, near to the houses, the presence of white rot in the root plate poses a significant risk to the trees stability and safety and is only something that will get progressively worse. See photos attached. Please advise whether we should be heavily reducing the tree or removing the tree. I am conscious a Beech of this size and maturity is not going to take particularly well to pollarding as it will not heal well and with it already being under significant stress I feel the chance of it regenerating is very low, but would appreciate your perspective once you see it.

(G1) Row of approximately 6x Lawson Cypress and 1x Large Leyland Cypress - These trees are part of a hedge row around the border of number 1 Highgate Close, bordering Hampstead Lane. The Leyland Cypress has become very large, it is leaning over the pavement and road, encroaching upon large vehicles passing along the road and is in danger of failing and some point in future. The remaining 6 Lawson Cypress have not been trimmed/maintained as a hedge so foliage is not as dense as required. Proposing to remove all of these trees in order to replant mature leyland cypress in the same location to create a new hedge row.
